If you have Woolworths Funeral Insurance, you're covered, as long as you've had your policy for more than 12 months. For the first 12 months of funeral cover, you're only insured for accidental death or accidental serious injury so any illness, such as COVID-19, won't be covered.
For new customers, our underwriting procedures remain the same, and all you have to do is answer all our health and lifestyle questions honestly. In line with current underwriting processes, if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or currently have symptoms of COVID-19 and are intending to seek medical advice or consultation with a doctor or other health professional, we will not be able to offer you cover until you have fully recovered and are in good health.
Yes, you can. The same as applying for a new policy, you have to answer all our health and lifestyle questions honestly. Otherwise, this might result in us not being able to pay any claim in the future. If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or currently have symptoms of COVID-19 and are seeking medical advice or consultation with a doctor or other health professional, we will not be able to offer you increased cover until you have fully recovered and are medically cleared to not have COVID-19.
