How do I make a pet insurance claim?

Vet bills can quickly mount up, so we’ve been working with vets to streamline the claims process to make it quicker and easier for pet parents. To cut down on paperwork, most claims can now be submitted electronically via an online customer service portal, and can include scans or photos of vet invoices and consultation notes.

Some vets can submit your claim directly from the vet practice while you are still there paying your bill, so you have nothing else to do.

What can I claim for?

You are covered for eligible costs of services provided by any licenced vet in Australia, including specialist, emergency and after-hour services.

Pet Insurance gives you the reassurance of being able to provide the best treatment when things don’t go according to plan.

How do I know if my pet’s treatment will be covered?

For larger expenses, you can request a pre-approval so you know in advance if your pet’s treatment will be covered.

Sometimes your pet insurance provider may need extra information to be able to process your pre-approval, but they’ll let you know as soon as possible. You can also check your Certificate of Insurance and Product Disclosure Statement for more details about what is and isn’t covered.

How long before my claim is paid?

In most cases if all required documents have been received, claims are settled within 5 business days, with funds transferred electronically the next business day.
