2019 Double Demerit points in NSW

Double demerit points started in New South Wales in 1997. They were introduced as an incentive to improve driver behaviour. With the number of vehicles registered in Australia on the rise*, our roads are busier than ever. And double demerit periods are no exception.

Easter long weekend 18 to 22 April
Anzac Day 24 to 28 April
Queen's Birthday 7 to 10 June
Labor Day 4 to 7 October
Christmas, Boxing Day & New Year's Day 20 December to 1 January 2020
