According to market research, 8 percent of Aussie adults travelled overseas without insurance within a 12 month surveyed period, with 50 percent engaging in ‘risky’ behaviour while on their overseas trip. Interestingly, a quarter (24%) experienced financial loss which could have been covered by a travel insurance policy#. So, what exactly is travel insurance and what are you covered for?
Travel insurance protects you from costs that arise from unexpected events, such as theft, injury or illness.
There are different types of travel insurance policies available that will give you varied levels of covers.
Woolworths Travel Insurance offers four different travel insurance policies, so you can choose the level of cover that’s right for you.
What you're covered for depends on the level of travel insurance you have.
Woolworths Travel Insurance has 4 policies that let you choose the level of cover that’s right for you and where you’ll be travelling to.
Yes. You can apply for any of the 4 Woolworths Travel Insurance policies for your cruise. When you're applying for travel insurance for your cruise it's important that you specify the destination of your cruise, as well as any ports you'll be stopping at.
If your cruise is only travelling within Australia, you need to specify "Australian Cruise" as your destination. If you select Australia as your destination instead of “Australian Cruise”, you won't be covered for any on-board medical expenses, any overseas medical expenses, or for the cost of any transfer to or repatriation from any overseas hospital.
You can add Snow Cover to your Woolworths Travel Insurance as a 'optional benefit'. Simply, add this when filling out your quote during the 'Cover options' section for an additional premium.
