VetAssist is a new service for Woolworths Pet Insurance customers, to help you care for your pet better. Because we understand how stressful it can be when your pet is sick, we want to help take some of the guesswork out of caring for your pet. VetAssist connects you easily and quickly to licensed Australian Vets from the comfort of your own home, or when you're on the move. 

Use VetAssist for those moments when you need advice but your local Vet is unavailable for the day, or when you notice changes in your Pet but you’re not sure if a visit to the Vet is needed. In the event of an emergency, you should contact your Vet immediately.

What the VetAssist Vets can help you with

The VetAssist Vets can help with a new or ongoing condition or even advice about behaviour or feeding. Some of these include:

  • Skin conditions including allergies and itchy skin
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Coughing or sneezing
  • Sore paws or broken nails
  • Minor cuts or infections
  • Gums and teeth
  • Smells
  • Diets or weight issues
  • Behavioural problems

How does VetAssist work?

Woolworths VetAssist is available 7 days a week between 6am-12am (AEST/AEDT) and connects you to licensed Australian Vets via video or chat online. You can get access to credible advice from a Vet at home, or even if you're away.

By connecting to a VetAssist Vet, you will be able to get advice on whether your pet requires a visit to the Vet, or if you can look after them in the comfort of their home. And it means you're not relying on searching for information online, from potentially inaccurate sources.

What to expect when you use VetAssist

You will be connected to a credible VetAssist Vet who will assess your pet's situation via video or chat. You'll be able to upload photos and videos via the chat function

The VetAssist Vet will then advise the best next for your pet. After the consultation, you'll receive a transcript of your conversation or notes left by the Vet

The same Vet will then follow up via email in 24 hours to check-in and see how you and your pet are doing
